Comfortable luxury hotel in a great location - walking distance to many landmarks. Great amenities, good service. Got fairly noisy sometimes in the middle of the night with street people yelling or fighting, but this was very sporadic. The area appeared quite safe.
Great service. Our room was big and quiet. Had to play with the air conditioner through the night as it would get too cold. The Roof top bar has a great view and service was superb.
Great location, just 50 meters from the subway; Tram outside front and 5 minute walk from city centre. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, staff were fantastic, and breakfast had an excellent selection of hot and cold food. I couldn't fault the stay and would strongly recommend it to anyone. Very nice rooms. Good cleaning service. And nice breakfast. Get a refill of the coffee, tea and water everyday. People at the reception are nice and helpful. Also very nice service at the restaurants. They really want to give you the best experience during your stay.
The rooms feel outdated and could use some upgrades, but the hotel’s prime location makes it easy to explore nearby tourist attractions on foot. The breakfast buffet is better than average, offering a good variety of options. While it can be challenging to find a table at the rooftop bar, the stunning views of the city and castle make it worth the effort.
I don’t typically write negative reviews, but unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was incredibly disappointing—particularly given we were traveling with our baby. We specifically chose this hotel because it advertised air conditioning. As seasoned travelers in Europe, we understand many hotels don’t offer AC, but we deliberately booked this property because it did. The room itself was lovely, but as we settled in for the night, we discovered the AC wasn’t working. We called the front desk and were told it should be working, but they said there was nothing they could do and abruptly hung up. We called back, and after some back and forth (and another hang-up), they attempted to fix it remotely, without success. Nearly an hour later, someone was finally sent up to check after we repeatedly asked. She couldn’t resolve the issue either. We asked for maintenance, and were told someone would need to be called and it could take 20 minutes to an hour—we agreed. An hour passed with no update. When we called again, we asked if we could move rooms. We were told there were two available: one smaller, and one on a different floor that would require carrying all of our things. With our baby in pajamas and everything unpacked, we began preparing to switch rooms. Maintenance eventually arrived, confirmed the AC couldn’t be fixed, and said someone would come the next day. At this point, it was nearly 11 p.m. We asked to switch rooms—but now, suddenly, neither of the two previously offered options were available. Instead, we were offered breakfast. I asked for a fan, and after waiting 30 more minutes, with our baby finally asleep, I called to say never mind. At checkout, we asked to speak with a manager. He said he would investigate and have a response when we returned for our luggage. When we came back, he was “on break” and had texted his response to the front desk staff, who read it to us aloud. He claimed we declined all help, including a fan, a room change, and breakfast—which was completely untrue. We had repeatedly asked for everything they said we refused. We finally spoke with a female manager who promised to follow up via email within a few days. It’s now been three weeks, and we’ve heard nothing. We gave this hotel every opportunity to make things right, but the customer service failed at every level. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere—especially if you’re traveling with a child or expecting even basic responsiveness. As a completely separate note, my mom had paid for a cake to be delivered to our room through the hotel and it never came. She was lied to and told it was delivered. This is just another example of the poor service and gaslighting at this hotel.
Great location for exploring Lisbon’s old town. The rooms were small but well-designed, with a calming color scheme and very quiet. We only missed a few hooks and storage options – otherwise a pleasant stay.
This hotel is really nice and cozy! Tidy room with a good space to the ceiling. It's located downtown close to pretty much everything. Windows in the room cancel very much noise from the street which was great! Very affordable for what you are getting, recommend! We enjoyed our stay a lot 😊
Very good value for the price and we had a big room with two bright windows facing the street. Despite previous reviews moaning, we weren’t disturbed by the road at all. We stayed for seven nights. The hotel is perfectly located close to Rossio underground station and is in walking distance of many of the sights. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of breads and pastries, cooked breakfast, meats, cereals, pancakes, jams and fruit. All we needed to set us up for day ahead exploring. Would definitely stay here again, though one thing we didn’t like was the over-perfumed reception area, which left me coughing every time I went through. Their sister hotel has an excellent bar and restaurant and we received a discount coupon to enjoy food there. We recommend the tuna steak and their pizzas.
Great location for everything, close to Rossio metro station that takes you everywhere! Lovely staff, beautiful clean rooms and silent rooms although the street was busy! (Great windows apparently). Would highly recommend for the price. Breakfast was also lovely.
For a pair of besties wanting to explore a new city, it was great !! ✔️We only really slept in the rooms but they were super spacious rooms & super close to public transport, as well as being in walking distance to most things. And we slept like babies in the beds, so comfy🤣 You get what you pay for. There were a few negatives like a funny smell in the bathroom and the area being a bit sketchy, but nothing drastic, we were overall pleased with our stay👍🏻
Close to city centre by walking, well equipped rooms, a bit not well maintained but overall cozy and comfortable bed. The staff is super kind, they even agreed to keep our luggage longer. Highly recommend !😊
After arriving in the middle of the afternoon the lady at the front desk barely said hi/welcome or lift her head from her phone. She just give us the instructions to go the room with the code. In the evening we realise we didn’t have any towels and they had been forgotten. We tried to call the emergency number but there was no answer. The next day I call the hotel since we were out to ask to put towels in our room, we had a bad feeling that it was not going to be done. We had to come back to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon to double check if the towels were in the room, the lady said yes. When we went up to check the towel were not there, we had to go downstairs and tell this lady with her attitude how to her job properly since she hadn’t passed any messages. Really bad service wouldn’t recommend.
If I was able to give a 0, I would! This hotel totally ruined my vacations, we arrived around 11:30pm with my younger sister. The area is sketchy, we decided not to judge and look the hotel, the entrance is ugly looks old. There’s no staff, we decided to go to the room just to see if there’s any improvement. The room was even worse that I thought it would be, the cabinet were falling apart, the odor in the room was humid and moldy, the floor was unfinished, the bathroom had mold. My sister had an allergic reaction due to the mold. we didn’t expend 2 hours in that room we had to book other hotels for our whole trip, we called the next day and an extremely rude woman answer, it seems that she was the only one in charge. She wasn’t able to communicate either English or Spanish (usually they understand in Spanish because it is similar to Portuguese) and she ended up hanging up on us for several times. We decided to handle it with booking, they were no help, literally the weren’t able to contact the hotel and therefore there was anything they can do. I report it to my bank so I was able have the money back for a few months but my bank charge me because from the states it looks like an actual hotel. There’s nothing you can do to have anything fix or have any resolution from anyone involve. THE MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD IN A HOTEL! NEVER BE BACK TO PORTUGAL!
Good quality/value choice. Perfectly located near bus/metro stations, easy to access all the tourist attractions. Rooms are comfortable. Great kitchen corner inside the room - has utensils, mini-fridge, evem microwave! It's not so quite around but rooms are more or less soundproof, so it's not bothering too much. Checkin via safebox, so you don't have time limitations.
My wife and I stayed for two nights at Portugal Boutique Hotel prior to going on a cruise that left out of Lisbon. We found the hotel perfect for our needs. The hotel was located right in the heart of the city and we were able to walk to many landmarks in the city. Our room also came with a hot breakfast which was great as we were gone all day on the second day and did not have time to eat lunch. The front desk was very accomodating and helpful with directions and other queries. We highly recommend this hotel and if we are back in Lisbon will certainly stay there again.
We stayed here March 2025. The service was wonderful. Turn down service, chocolates, water provided. There was welcome gifts of drinks in our room the first night. The location was good and taxi service was central. Near square Figueira and tram 27. The rate was very reasonable. The breakfast was AWESOME! It was fully stocked and the eggs and fruit and meats were delicious. There was champagne every breakfast and juices of course. There room was clean. The bed was alright, it was quite firm. The pillows were also large and firm. The only gripe I had and, it was large— was there was no air conditioning. Well there was, but apparently they turn it off during colder months. So the entire set of rooms- not the reception or breakfast of course— was not air conditioned. It was cool outside 60 degrees but the way the windows worked there was not cross breeze unless we opened our front door to the room (not happening) also there is significant light and sound at night because the windows are open. I couldn’t sleep with the windows closed because it was hot, and the windows open because of the light and sound. It’s a four star hotel and they turn off the air conditioning. I’m sure they turn it on during warmer months. They ended up giving me a tower fan which brought in the air from one window instead of me opening two windows which really helped. All in all, I’m not sure I would pick this hotel next visit. The service was wonderful though.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Portugal. The location was ideal, very close to a metro station so an easy trip from the airport. We were warmly greeted on arrival and taken to our very nice room. During our stay we got very good help when we were unsure how to get to one of the attractions we wanted to visit-nothing was too much trouble for the reception team. There was a very good selection at the buffet breakfast. Lisbon has so much to offer and the hotel was the perfect place for exploring from. Would thoroughly recommend.
Absolutely fabulous 👌. From the moment you enter the hotel. It has a lovely ambience and is complimented by the welcoming staff throughout our stay. Whether you speak to reception or staff in the breakfast area and bar. They are all wonderful and attentive. The cleaners are great, coming back to a clean room each day with lovely chocs is also a bonus. Finally on the first night we were invited to experience the wine tasting in the cellar which was great. Juan the manager was really informative. Thanks everyone for a great stay
We had a wonderful stay. Their friendly and courteous service was great. Nice breakfast with good variety. The location was perfect just off Praca Figueira . Their restaurant recommendations were good. The welcome and departure amenities were a superb touch. It was above our expectations.
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at 1908 Lisboa Hotel! The facilities are top-notch, blending modern luxury with historical charm. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all that Lisbon has to offer. The amenities were fantastic, from the stylish rooms to the delightful on-site restaurant. But what truly made this experience unforgettable was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay, and a special shout-out to Caterina for her outstanding hospitality and kindness. She truly made our short trip extra special. Highly recommend!
Must be one of the best hotels I've stayed at on a city break. The rooms are large in this fully renovated building. The hotel staff and adjoining restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive and couldn't ask for better service 10/10 .On the day we arrived, 2 miniature bottles of liqueur and pastries were delivered to our room and a drinks voucher for 2 free drinks at the bar. We ate dinner and lunch at the restaurant twice during our stay as the food was delicious. At the end of our stay, our flight back home was not till 7.30pm, but the hotel let us stay in the room until we left for the airport .location is also very central next to the tram 28 route, which passes by the hotel
It has a great room and fantastic stag/service. It gets a bit loud at night during the weekends as it's right where people come and hang out. That is indeed its charm. Everyone made sure that our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. They also surprised us with a few very well-thought-out little things, which were appreciated!
So happy and comfortable here. I am sensitive to sound and can't sleep if there is noise and this place has been such a comfort while travelling. The staff is so attentive, kind, and helpful. It is centrally located and easy to access many of the great city features!
Hotel is ideal, rooms are comfortable, service is fantastic. The only issue, and not something at fault of the hotel, the 10 min walk to the central area of the city is not a nice one, very dirty and at night groups of men on the streets and corners. No reflection of the hotel but just worth noting. I will stay in the hotel again.
I absolutely loved my stay at Madalena by The Beautique Hotels and will definitely stay here again! The rooms are so nice, beautifully designed, modern, and super comfortable. The breakfast was really good, with plenty of tasty options to start the day right. And the location is AMAZING, right in the heart of Lisbon, making it super easy to walk to major attractions, great restaurants, and shops. Overall, such a fantastic stay! If you're looking for a stylish, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Lisbon, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!
The room was very small and very poorly designed. I do not understand how this could be a 4 star hotel. Perhaps the use of polished brass finishes everywhere? The carpeting had been cleaned right before we checked in and was still wet. We were given plastic booties to protect our shoes from the cleaning chemicals, but the room smelled badly of cleaner for a couple of days. The shower floor is polished porcelain with no grout lines so very slippery. The doors to the shower and toilet area are large and open the wrong way, so it's hard to squeeze between the door and sink - there is at one point 6" clearance between the two. So poorly designed. Breakfast is not good, we ended up eating out. The location, however, is excellent.
A really great stay. I had payment difficulties due to my bag being robbed in the days prior. Elvis did a great job of ensuring a solution was found. The room was lovely and the housekeeper who cleaned my room on the 10th was an absolute superstar ⭐️ Bar serves great cocktails, I had a lovely stay.
We had a minor complaint apart from the AC not working, drains glugging and dangerous shower floor, all of which had been reported by others but the Hotel ignored. Customer service if not positive is horrendous. I’ve escalated to the Director, no response. Stay elsewhere. It is junk with an expensive price tag. Mr Alfredo does not answer his email. Really hacked off. Mr Alfredo eventually responded in typical style, rather than deal with the issue we had professionalism, disrespect, rude etc. all nonsense but a way avoiding the issue. No consideration of failing to deliver what was sold or simply accepting that on this occasion the hotel did not meet the mark. Poor leadership.
Location and service was great. The rooms were very exclusive and beautiful. But for a 4* hotel, the breakfast was bad. Even no real coffee; only the machine that mixes powder with water. Expected def more for the price
Great Location and Friendly Staff, But Not Ideal for Families or Accessibility The hotel is in a fantastic location, very close to Rossio, making it convenient for exploring the city. The staff and workers were extremely friendly and welcoming. Additionally, the hotel was very clean; I didn’t notice anything out of place in terms of cleanliness. However, there are some significant drawbacks. The elevator is located on the first floor, requiring guests to climb a long set of stairs to access it. This can be quite inconvenient, especially if you’re traveling with children, strollers, heavy luggage, or have mobility issues. To make matters worse, the elevator is extremely small and can barely accommodate one person with bags, which adds to the difficulty. Furthermore, there’s no staff available to help with luggage. The breakfast offered is very limited, and while it’s sufficient, it doesn’t stand out. The rooms, unfortunately, are quite outdated, very small, and the toilets are uncomfortably tiny. Overall, this hotel might be a good choice for couples looking for a clean and centrally located place near Rossio, but it’s not well-suited for families, those with disabilities, or anyone needing extra space or assistance.
The room was clean, recently renovated, with new, neat furniture. Towels were changed daily. But one day, when we returned to the hotel in the evening, there was no towel in the bathroom, old or new, but we immediately received two bath towels from the reception. The breakfast was good. I would like to mention the beautiful dining room. The room corresponded to the description in the booking, with the exception of the window, which looks in the photo as if it opens to the outside, large and bright. In reality, the window is small and opens into a small square, interior, covered space, where other room windows on the other sides also open. For this reason it was almost impossible to breathe. On the fourth day, I had the impression that there was not enough oxygen left in the room.
Decent rooms but way too much noise on street. Groups gather on steps across the street and argue and yell at each other most of the night. Did not get a single full night's sleep. Also you must carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs to each elevator, which is sadly only big enough for one person☹️
It’s actually a 2 or 3 star hotel. Very friendly and helpful personnel. The hotel is located downtown, very close to Rua Augusta and Rossi Square and Rossi Train Station. Our room was satisfyingly clean, but there was no mini fridge at all. The air dryer was not working properly at all - the only time I wished I had taken mine with me. The bathtub was very slippery - be extra careful. Also, it wasn’t very convenient that there was no lift to 1st floor as it’s not easy to carry your luggage.
4 days never had hot water. Asked multiple times never addressed. Beds are like rocks. Across the street from empty parking garage with drug lookouts. Don’t leave after dark.
I think the best part of this hotel is the location. I was able to walk to all the spots on my list in this neighborhood. Most of the Tram 28 stops, I decided to walk to instead of jumping on the tram after seeing the line ;) The free breakfast here is amazing. The lady who runs the breakfast room is a sweetheart. She keeps the breakfast items restocked, working hard and fast while being very attentive to the guests, which, unfortunately, I can't say about the front desk. Rooms are cute and clean. Would definitely recommend it.
The Mouraria Lisboa Hotel is very good. It's a little hard to find (and on a steep hill!) but in a good location near several good restaurants. And Cafes. The immediate area does have some sketchy characters lingering around, but even as a solo traveler, I had no problems. The hotel held my luggage as i arrived early. They assigned a larger room to me 107. It was very comfortable. Facing an inner courtyard. The bed and shower were nice. The only thing I could not figure out was the programmable thermostat, but I didn't really need it anyway. Breakfast was simple but all you really needed. Recommended.
Almost perfect hotel for a student couple. We stayed here for 3 nights in january and really enjoyed it. Everything was clean, towels were changed daily. The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast. Wide range of options from sweet homemade cakes to full english breakfast. There was a possibility to get gluten free bread. There is not a fridge, but we could store our medications at their fridge at the reception. Their wifi was fast but sometimes there wasn’t signal for normal calls. There isn’t much storage as the room is quite small so i would reccomend this hotel mainly for shorter trips. Staff was helpful and always polite. The hotel is close to public transport and metro is only 5 minutes of walking away. There wasn’t any noise from the street. The only disadvantage of this hotel is the surroundings. There are a lot of foreign people standing in front of their shops or hanging out in small groups. But I never felt unsafe. Nobody has ever talked to us or wanted from us something. I personally didn’t mind. However, I can imagine a solo female traveller could feel unsafe. Overall I would definitely reccomend this hotel. Perfect price.
Really nice hotel with good breakfast in a not-so-great part of town. Front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast staff were excellent. Great service, communication, and friendly personalities. The room was clean and spacious. Made my 3 nights there feel like a wonderful retreat from the busyness of the surrounding area. The only downside is the location, but as a man it is an easy trade off for the quality of the hotel at this price point. The hotel requires a short uphill trek, the cobblestone streets around are narrow and winding, and it in a part of town with predominantly populated by South Asian and African immigrants.
We had a rather disappointing experience at this hotel for 4 nights. The room was very small and stuffy. To make matters worse, it was right next to the staff room, and the laundry machines ran throughout the night, making it impossible to get a decent rest due to the constant noise. The neighborhood around the hotel also left a lot to be desired. It didn’t feel the safest, especially at night. The breakfast options were minimal and didn’t offer much variety, which was a letdown. On the positive side, the room was modern and clean, which I appreciated. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay.
Smashing Boutique style hotel. Extremely good location. Make sure you get room with a view or a balcony. Maybe the best view in Lisbon! Very efficient and friendly staff, happy to oblige. Very tasty breakfast, in lovely setting. Nice to sit outside in the courtyard and watch the busy world go by!
My stay at this hotel was truly exceptional! The service was outstanding!. The hotel's décor is both beautiful and unique, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The location is excellent, and the pricing is very reasonable. I was thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this hotel to others! A Small boutique with 5 star experience !
The perfect couple get away if you plan a stay in Lisbon The exquisite decoration, comfortable and spotless clean rooms, breakfast buffet of high quality, friendly and helpful staffs...perfect location in the heart of Alfama quarter. Pousada hotel is the perfect place
Breakfast was really good. I'm vegetarian and had eggs, mushrooms, toast and the usually continental items. The only thing is that there was a noticeable difference between breakfast items on the weekend & weekday. Check before you pay to avoid disappointment. Coffee could be better quality. Room was clean and the staff were excellent . Special shout out to Rita for all her tips and advice.
Loved this boutique hotel. Can’t beat the location. Breakfasts were great. Walking distance to many sites and restaurants. Rooms are small as compared to other Posadas in Portugal. Parking is a 10 minute walk away up and down hills (20 euros per day). I’d really didn’t need a car - it was left over from our trip to the Algarve
Bed Bugs We are surprised that none of the reviews mentions the bed bugs… When we checked in we saw dark stains on the matres and bathroom doors. We thought it’s was a mold (mold is typical problem here). We checked the reviews on Booking - nobody mentioned the bed bugs, we thought it’s safe. However on the second morning there we saw one… This property is simply tricking tourists with the low budget. The low price will result in great expenses to get rid of the bed bugs at home… The sketchy homeless people mentioned in other reviews: we stayed there for two nights. On Monday it was more less calm, on Sunday evening they were pretty loud. Two men were almost fighting, one man was yelling into the crowd, the was a recent drug-addict, still physically strong, who knows what's in his head. Nevertheless we could leave and come back to the hotel safe. In general we were going to rate Pensao Nova Goa as expected quality for this price, but because the bed bugs it can’t be rated higher than 0. Don’t go there At breakfast there were cereals, cheese, ham, bread, toaster, coffee machine, orange juice, water The staff are simple people, but nice (untill it comes to recompensation). P.S. The property refused to recompensate pest control supplies and dry cleaner's. Booking can do nothing about it. So if yo already went there, demand the property to recompensate while you are still there
Stayed here for last night in Lisbon. Room is decent size with good AC. Bathroom has recently been refurbished. Strong water pressure but drain does not drain quickly so may flood. Floor does not have drain I believe so be careful!! Breakfast is free, very limited choices- but then again it was free so can’t complain, did the job for the morning. Main things were modern coffee machine, bread to make toast, ham, cheese, 2 kinds of cereal, butter, peach jam, from what I remember.
Really bad pension. Smallest room on our whole trip. Hardest bed and most uncomfortable pillow I ever had while traveling. The window was partly defect and the platic floor had stains. In the night the bathroom had a really bad smell from the drain. The free breakfast was ok but only meat and cheese, milk and cereals. So nothing for vegan living people.
This place was in a great location for a great price, however, with this combo, comes some drawbacks. I saw the reviews about bedbugs after booking, so I only stayed one night and opted for a pricier stay elsewhere. The room and bathroom were very clean. There was no soap included. There was AC, towels and a TV. The elevator is insanely small and we did get stuck in the elevator for a few minutes, as it is quite small, slow and old and it was quite terrifying. The reception was very nice and refunded me for one of my nights.
A great budget Hotel right in the heart of Lisbon. Close proximity to everything. All at a walking distance. Rooms have been refurbished and kept clean.
I recently stayed at Rossio Boutique Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The location is excellent—very central and within walking distance to Lisbon's key attractions. It's also conveniently close to various transport options, including the metro, train, tram, and buses. Despite being in such a prime location, the hotel feels private and discreet. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A special mention goes to Igor, who went above and beyond in recommending fantastic restaurants and providing tips to enhance my trip. The room was fantastic—spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with a great shower. The bed was very comfortable, which was perfect after long days of exploring Lisbon on foot. Overall, I highly recommend Rossio Boutique Hotel for anyone looking for a centrally located, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay in Lisbon.
The hotel staff are so nice and helpful. The room is so clean and comfortable. The location is nice in the middle of the old city. The only thing is that sometimes little noise from outside during weekend but wasn’t too frustrating so all is well!
Spotless hotel, with romantic mid century modern decor, big bathrooms, awesome service, comfy beds, and convenient location a 5 minute walk from Rossio Square, Martim Moniz and Baixa Market! A highlight was Higor who was hilarious and warm. Free coffee machine and tea all the time. Twin beds available. Wonderful stay.
Really good place to stay! Clean room, comfy bed. The most important - environment is really friendly, super nice and helpful receptionists!
Overall a good experience here! The only thing preventing 5stars is that our room was pretty mouldy, the walls behind the bed and ceiling. Other than that, everything else was great. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful. They really ensured that we enjoyed our stay. Ana Araujo even helped us to call in to Iberia as our luggage was missing for a few days with 0 updates, and sorted it out for us. Miguel provided a lot of tips and information about Lisbon and Portugal as well. Everyone else were lovely too. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel with a great location!
Nice traditional hotel in a good location near the castle. Breakfast was good and frequently replenished. Rooms were a good size and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again. The walk up from the main town area is quite steep though so be prepared!
Close to the castle. Cars won't go up to drop you off unless in a taxi, since there is a barricade that limits the transport up the hill to entrance. There is a small steep hill on a rocky road to get to the entrance. Breakfast was mediocre at best, definitely not worth including it. We ate outside for breakfast instead as there were so many better breakfast restaurants nearby. The rooms are outdated with stained walls and old carpet. Pillows are comfortable, but our bed was horrible. It was lumpy and frumpy, sank so much that we felt the boards underneath. Thank God we only stayed there for 2 nights. Gave us a lot of neck and back pain. 5 flies were also in our room during the 1st day. We had to kill them because they were annoying. Service was quick in giving us more pillows but were reluctant to do so as they kept emphasizing extra pillows in the closest. Walls are thin so can hear conversations from other rooms.
A very nice small hotel, with some stunning views and exceptional staff who were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Good continental breakfast, with small hot offering. The room was spacious and clean with a balcony. The decor was a bit worn, and the outdoor furniture had seen better days. The balcony would benefit from some TLC and better privacy to be used more. The hotel is at the top of a hill with cobbled streets, so accessibility for some may be an issue.
The Olissippo Hotel is located in the Alfama district of Lisbon, which is the old town. From the outside, it isn't much to look at, but inside the rooms are very luxurious. We stayed in a twin junior suite room, which was a free upgrade from our original room, on the fourth floor. The view from here was spectacular. The room was excellent, very clean, spacious, and had all the amenities one would expect in a 4-star hotel. The staff were all friendly and professional, but some were lacking when it came to general knowledge about the city itself. Indeed, there was no information about Lisbon(events, places to see, transportation, etc) at all at the hotel. The Alfama district is very hilly, so this may be a problem for the less able-bodied. There is also a slight step at the main entrance to the building, but the hotel does cater for those with disabilities. The hotel is very quiet at night, although it does have a bar area. Ideally, it is suited for the older generation or those of a quiet disposition. The hotel serves breakfast only( which was nice but a little basic), but snacks, such as sandwiches, burgers, etc, can be bought at the bar. For those who do struggle with walking, there is a regular tram service that stops not far from the hotel, or you can just jump on a tuktuk, which will take you straight there. The cost of a tuktuk from the city centre is around 10 euros.
Really hard to locate the hotel. Be mindful of narrow streets and don’t take your car. Hotel was overall nice and well organized. Breakfast buffet was 3/5.
OnJ S. Lázaro Lisboa is a beautifully designed boutique aparthotel in the heart of Lisbon, offering a perfect blend of historic charm and modern elegance. The rooms are exceptionally clean, bright, and stylishly modern, with smart controls, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchenettes. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The location is ideal for exploring the city, with great restaurants, nightlife, and attractions just a short walk away. With its warm atmosphere, impeccable service, it’s a perfect home away from home in Lisbon.
I don't usually leave reviews but I was so impressed with our stay from start to finish. Great communication when we arrived we got a presentation on the area which was very informative. The rooms are very clean and modern. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the brunch for breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. If I return to Lisbon I will definitely stay here again.
Setup: family of 4 (2 small toddlers). Location: Great - it's like 4 minutes from the metro station which you can take metro to the airport, and also where the 28 tram begins. Overall greatly located. Rooms: Nice concepts with their interior design, colors, furniture. We had a relatively small room, but didn't really mind. I think there's nothing we can complain - giving 5 starts - also recommended. Breakfast: Exceptional - we took their brunch options for 16E - they cook amazing - definitely a strength - *very* recommended! Service: very professional, friendly, polite. Overall: the hotel stands out. I highly recommend it.
Couldn’t recommend it more! Very well located near metro station and walking distance of Chiado and all downtown. Room was spacious, very comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped. Both the room and main areas are super well maintained and clean and the room smelled delightfully. I had breakfast too and it was amazing! Those pancakes are so worth the visit!
The location was easy for walking, the bus and metro - getting to anywhere you need. Good eateries close by in walking distance. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. Family friendly - this was a real bonus as we have twin toddlers. There is a lift, the rooms have good natural lighting, a good restaurant downstairs - it was all very convenient and we would come back again!
Wonderfully cute boutique hotel in the shadow of the castle. Beautifully fitted out and with a refreshingly relaxed attitude to breakfast and early evening drink/cakes, it felt more like staying with relatives than being on a hotel. Lovely breakfast courtyard, complete with screeching peacocks (who are really the ones in charge!) . Several nice restaurants within a ten minute walk, but be aware- you are staying at the top of a VERY steep hill, with limited vehicular access. I’d contend it a hotel for the physically active, there’s a fair bit of walking involved.
Great place next to the castle. Loved our cute boutique room and the view/small patio was lovely. You will find yourself surrounded by peacocks! Breakfast buffet was incredible. Loved all of the fruit, food options including mimosas. It is a bit difficult to get to so keep that in mind if renting a car or taking an Uber. You will need to walk up the hill. They do have a golf cart that can pick you up at certain to location. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we had an ant problem in the room and they found their way up into the bed in the sheets without any sort of concession and would have been appreciated.
You literally can't get closer to the Castle - it used to be the old kitchens. Wonderful helpful staff. Access - only residents and taxis (not Uber) are allowed to the door. Not a problem if you can manage 150m or so. Rooms are cute but small, with a great view into the castle itself. Bonus point - the dozen or so peacocks and peahens, displaying in the morning. Great breakfast, remember 4€ tourist tax to be paid per person when leaving.
My dad and I stayed here while passing through Lisbon. We enjoyed it so much. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They have excellent service. We loved the location on top of the hill in a charming area that was quiet and safe at night. We were able to walk everywhere. The rooms were clean. We loved it so much that we came back and stayed again on our way out of Portugal. I highly recommend staying here.
Everything about Solar do Castelo is exceptional. Our room was spacious with good storage spaces. The bath was a generous size. The service from all staff was extensive. Upon arrival a map including public transport routes, along with options for eating and site seeing were provided. The included buffet breakfast had everything from salad, to hot food, fresh fruit salad, bread, pastries, juice, coffee and tea etc. The view from our room included the ocean, peacocks, a castle and the local roof tops. Our room was warm during winter nights. Wifi great. Our location was very close the bus stop and not far from the tram. This hotel was a stand out.
An affordable option, if they don’t cancel on you. I checked in with a young boy who told me I needed to pay an additional 8€ for city taxes. The front door was never locked and he would hangout in the public space making plenty of noise. One bathroom for everyone seemingly… very small and had to wait for others. I had booked more nights for later in my trip but they cancelled within 24 hours, leaving my to find last minute accommodations. The wifi was very poor.
I have been to many hostels these last two years. It's not the worst but clearly at the bottom of ranking. Well I have been there twice during my trip. The host is very nice, sympathic and I think he does his possible but...there's just two bathrooms for a lot of people. There's something I have no explanations. They give two keys.Well ok once open the door of the floor and the other...I don't know 😂 well it's sure not the bedroom. which means no keys for your room.... the reception starts at 10am but nowhere it's written...I wanted to pay for 2 euros to keep my luggages safe for the day of my check out but I checked out at 8am...well no reception so I couldn't keep my luggages there! The second time I went there during my trip then I arrived and the concierge gave me the key and the room. Then later when I came back at night....my bed was busy.. one guy in the room told me that the host gave that bed to this guy...I've never seen that
Be careful! They scam easily! I booked for 3 nights, and on the morning of first night as I didn't checked in ( I was suppose to arrive day later) they cancelled my whole booking for no show. I said I was ok to pay for first night but I d like to have the money back for the 2 next nights as there is a large possibility to book again and they refused. So I m now paying for the 2 next nights in this place where I can't go. And I couldn't book another place as they refused to reimburse me. Very bad people. Please avoid
As a solo traveller, there are many things to consider. Safety being one of them. At Divine House of Graça, I felt safe. A very nice, tidy space. Common areas very clean too. Pedro is a lovely chap ! The housekeeping staff were very helpful and helpful exceptionally good ! Not to mention value for money ! The location is within an easy reach of the “Baixa”.
The location is great, bus station nearby, mosque nearby if you're a Muslim, food is also nearby, very accessible and easy to find, it's apartment 27. The rooms get serviced daily, so it's clean. And if you're booking online, book for the exact days, bcz she will increase the price when you have to book more for days. i got my first booking for 17, then on asking for more days, it got to 19, and then it raised to 22 euros.
Great place. We had the top floor, 2 bedroom suite and it was fantastic. With a kitchen, living room and 2 bedrooms, it was perfect for our couple days in Lisbon. I wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was delicious, with everything you could want, including eggs, pastries, fruit, great coffee, choice of juice, and so much more. The location is amazing, right on the #28 tram. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go and took the 28 back if we were tired of walking. From what I saw in Lisbon, this is the best neighborhood to stay. Highly recommend.
First and foremost, the staff at the hotel was wonderful. I had great conversations with them. They were so helpful. The room, esthetically, looks really quaint when you walk in, but it was not clean and lacked lighting. I found mold in the shower and a bunch of hair that didn’t belong to me. And when natural light hit the quilt in the morning, I was appalled at the stains inside the duvet. Knowing that they were booked and my time was short- stayed, I slept with the bed sheet and pushed the duvet to the side. This hotel has the potential to be better if the room was better kept.
I had the most amazing stay at Dalma Old Town Suites in Lisbon! I stayed in one of the best rooms with an incredible view. The room itself was stunning, with three beautiful balconies, a full kitchen, and a spacious bedroom that made it feel like a luxurious home away from home. To top it off, they had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for me when I arrived—a thoughtful and welcoming touch that set the tone for the rest of my stay. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff made me feel welcome right from the start. Breakfast was perfect—fresh, delicious, and just what I needed before heading out to explore. But the true highlight was the view! Whether I was sipping wine in the evening or enjoying coffee in the morning, the breathtaking scenery from the balconies was unforgettable. The location was also ideal, within walking distance to all the main attractions. Just a heads-up: Lisbon has lots of hills, so get your climbing shoes ready! But with such a beautiful and vibrant city to explore, it’s totally worth it. I highly recommend Dalma Old Town Suites for anyone looking for a combination of comfort, luxury, and the perfect Lisbon experience!
Third time back to here, because they are awesome. Great location, very nice rooms, and a very good (separately owned) restaurant downstairs. Maria at the desk can also help you with tours, dinner reservations, transfers, etc. Muito obrigado!
My family and I stayed at the hotel during the Lisbon half marathon in 2025 and had 3 rooms occupied in total. Especially to highlight is the very kind and friendly staff, which is helpful and solution driven whatever you ask. Special thanks go out to Diego and Ricardo in that regard.
Very nice hotel, with its location its just perfect for extended weekend trip to Lisbon. Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The whole vibe of this place makes you just want to share your travel stories with others like you or relax in one of the cozy spots scattered around the common area. We especially enjoyed the terrace on the top floor where view is just awesome. Breakfasts are exceptionally good and worth it, all products seem to have been deliberately selected and virtually everything tastes great! Totally recommended!
What an absolutely lovely hotel experience, unlike anywhere we've stayed before. Everyone who we interacted with was just so marvelously pleasant which is not something I've ever thought about at other hotels. They remembered what we liked to drink and eat and our plans. Two very cute cats were often wandering around. We stayed in the Queen's View. Beautiful view of the city. Small room but that wasn't an issue. Breakfast was amazing. One of our top meals. We didn't even eat breakfast elsewhere because it was so good. Ask for the pancake!! It has condensed milk in it and is to die for. The eggs with cheese are also superb. Homemade bread. The breakfast is reason enough to stay here. The hotel is also right by one o the major overlooks. Beautiful patio, as well with lots of Birds of Paradise. Okay, the one downside: it's at the top of a very steep hill. Coming home at night can be rough; if you walk. Bolt/Uber is super cheap (~5€ from much of the main city) and can easily save you. Or just hike it like we did. The value of this place was 10/10 and would recommend :)
Friendly staff, great rooms. Extremely pleasant stay. Note, steep climb up stairs if you're walking up to the hotel from the metro.
Staying in this hotel was a very nice experience! Everything was great, especially the hotel staff. They are very polite and friendly. The hotel breakfast might be the best breakfast you can have in a hotel. They do their best to make you feel good and I felt at home. The hotel is at the top of the slope so it can be a bit tiring if you want to walk. However, it is about 10 minutes walk from the metro and closer to the bus and tram. You can easily reach the hotel by taking the famous 28E from Lisbon's city square, but you have to wait in line for a long time due to the heavy flow of tourists.
The best location, service, and breakfast! We stayed here for four nights, then extended with one night upon our return from Porto and I wished we’d have had even more time to soak in the place and the sunny garden together with the cats. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the rooms are beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The location is perfect, especially if you like hip cafes, natural wine, and having the best view of the city literally 50 meters from the doorstep. And if you’re a breakfast lover don’t miss the pancakes! I highly recommend Tings!
Patio Sao Vicente was such a wonderful surprise! From the warm welcome from Dona Olinda to the fantastic aesthetic and details of the architecture. A great use of space, with just enough natural light. This is a very special place. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the popular Alfama neighborhood and nearby landmark attractions. The host Victor was available and responded in a very timely manner to our needs. The place has an excellent vibe! I highly recommend it.
We had a very nice stay at this property. It was well appointed and quite charming. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable, which is very important. However, I would not recommend this property for elderly people unless they are in very good shape. There are lots of stairs and the apartments themselves are up a steep hill. The location was excellent though being right on the very romantic street car lines that go through the old section of town. But because it’s in the old section of town, elderly people should carry a cane!
Super accommodation especially with our early arrival. The apartment small but e incredible y confortable with all necessities at hand. The only thing to consider is the steep hill walk up to get to the patios entrance and narrow steps, for us the only draw back since we were traveling with large suitcases, with small carry ons this should not be an issue. Pretty perfect in every way !
This lovely guesthouse is located on top of a hill right next to Sao Vicente church. If you’re traveling with a suitcase, it would be quite of an ordeal to drag/carry it to the guest house since the slope is rather steep. We also had an issue at check-in, which resulted in a delay in our itinerary. It was somewhat resolved, though I wish I hadn’t happened in the first place. It’s located in a lively neighborhood and there are lots of restaurants and bakeries around.
Gorgeous, cute apartment with everything you could need for a Lisbon Adventure. Comfy bed, excellent facilities and helpful staff when we arrived. Highly recommended!
Great place in a privileged location. They should mention that swimming pool might not be in your building (important when reserving). There are few parking available, reserve in advance. The location is great to walk Lisbon. Great vibes for a typical neighbourhood in Lisbon.
Brilliant room, exceptionally clean and comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. Short walk to the block which contains the apartments, pool and gym. Lovely pool area overlooking the roofs below. Great location, but beware lots of stairs and hills so not for the unfit. Tomas was incredibly helpful when we arrived with info regarding things to see, how to get tram tickets etc. Only small problem was Wifi not working
I had a very good experience, I stayed for two nights and no complaints. Hotel staff was welcoming, attentive and friendly Rooms were clean and cute. I booked the executive one bedroom apartment and it was spacious and cozy. The hotel had a cafe in the lobby which was very convenient
Amazing experience! Never been to Lisbon before but would love to stay again. Lovely spacious rooms, clean and lovely bathroom. Really good location too and close enough to city centre. Easy to take taxi if unsure. Really good service by hotel staff too so thank you!!
Super comfortable apartment. Well equiped and clean. Great rooms. Amazing view over the city in the old town. The pool was very good, the gym just a basic equipment. My Wifi unfortunately didn‘t work. But all in all it was a great stay.
A place to stay if you are not a person with fancy expectations. Small but clean confortable room. Not a place for elderly or Persons with disabilities. No elevators, narrow steep stairs typical of old buildings. Well located ,great staff, breakfast included and it is very good.
We had such a great stay here and were pleasantly surprised. They maintained it very well it was so clean and quaint with a cute balcony off our room. The included breakfast was delicious and a nice option before leaving to the airport for our morning flight. It’s in such a great location to go to near delicious restaurants and beautiful shops.
Be prepared for dark, dingy rooms on a busy street. Nothing wrong with a dive hotel that is priced as such, but this place charges the same as a 2-3 star place. Let's hope there is never a fire, no fire escape.
Very small rooms, and it was cold (winter visit); we had a heating problem that was fixed, but it remained cold inside (we're from Canada, we know cold!); no lift so unpractical for big suitcases, but car can reach (hard for delivery tho). Overal good for one person, but too small for 2
Nice stay. Room seemed newly renovated. They need new lightbulbs, lights flickered. Shower is also not the best. On the other hand, the bed is fantastic, incredible sleep. Efficient service, room was impeccable.
